A 28-year-old woman, primigravida, at 28 weeks gestation presented for routine antenatal visit.
The patient had a one-pack-a-day history of smoking and despite cutting down reported smoking five cigarettes daily; she also mentioned being exposed to second-hand smoke at home. She was not on any medication and reported no known allergies. Her gynecological history included several episodes of urinary tract infections over the past three years. Her pregnancy had been uneventful so far. On examination, vital signs were unremarkable. Fetal heart rate monitoring was within normal limits. Fundal height was 24 cm and unchanged from the previous visit. |
